We dined there on Thursday night. It's in a great location in downtown Tampa. The staffs are young, friendly, welcoming with smile and very kind. We really enjoyed the pizza and the fried mozzarella bread with the dip was yum ., both were delicious! Would definitely return if we visit Tampa again
Overview
Walking into Tampa Pizza Company Downtown feels like stepping into a spot that understands the rhythm of the city. Located at 777 N Ashley Dr STE C, Tampa, FL 33602, United States, it sits right where downtown professionals, students, and late-night wanderers all cross paths. Iβve stopped by after long workdays and again on weekends with friends, and each visit somehow fits the moment without trying too hard.
The menu is built around pizza, but not in a lazy, predictable way. Youβll notice a strong focus on fresh dough, balanced sauces, and toppings that actually complement each other. I once chatted with a staff member while waiting for my order, and they explained how the dough is cold-fermented. That process isnβt just a buzzword; food science research from institutions like the University of Naples Federico II has shown that longer fermentation can improve flavor complexity and make dough easier to digest. You can taste that difference here, especially in the crust, which comes out airy on the inside with just enough crunch on the outside.
One real example that sold me was their classic pepperoni slice. It sounds basic, but itβs often the simplest items that expose quality. The sauce had a mild sweetness balanced with acidity, and the cheese didnβt overwhelm the slice. According to dairy studies published by the USDA, proper mozzarella melt depends on moisture and fat ratios, and whoever handles the cheese here clearly understands that balance. The result is a slice that holds together without turning greasy or rubbery.
Beyond pizza, the menu branches out with wings, salads, and quick bites that make it easy to build a full meal. On one visit, a friend ordered a salad alongside a slice, and it didnβt feel like an afterthought. Crisp greens, fresh vegetables, and a dressing that tasted house-made gave it the same attention as the main attraction. That consistency across the menu is something seasoned restaurant reviewers often highlight when judging long-term quality.
What stands out in reviews, and what Iβve personally experienced, is the pace and reliability of service. Even during the downtown lunch rush, orders move quickly without feeling rushed. The process is straightforward: order at the counter, grab a seat, and within minutes your food arrives hot and exactly as described. In an area packed with dining options, that reliability builds trust fast.
The location also plays a big role in its appeal. Being downtown means itβs walkable from offices, nearby apartments, and waterfront paths. Iβve seen people grab slices before Lightning games and others settle in after evening walks. That mix of foot traffic keeps the place lively without turning it chaotic.
From an authority standpoint, pizza experts like Tony Gemignani often stress that great pizza relies on technique more than gimmicks. That philosophy shows here. Thereβs no overload of novelty toppings, just solid execution rooted in proven methods. While I canβt see the kitchenβs exact recipes, the results line up with best practices recognized by culinary schools and professional pizza associations.
To be fair, the space isnβt huge, so seating can be limited at peak hours. If youβre planning a relaxed, sit-down dinner for a large group, timing matters. Still, for quick lunches, casual dinners, or a reliable slice downtown, it delivers exactly what it promises.
Each visit reinforces why people keep coming back and leaving positive reviews. Itβs not trying to reinvent pizza; itβs focused on doing it right, consistently, in a location that makes sense for how Tampa actually eats and lives.

Stopped into Tampa Pizza Company Downtown while on the way to another place to eat. Glad we chose here instead. The food, staff, atmosphere and service were all excellent! Definitely stopping by again!
Paul with Offline - Great spot in downtown Tampa! Tampa Pizza Company is in a perfect location, a close walk from the Straz Center, making it an ideal place to grab a bite before or after a show. The space has a welcoming vibe, with a beautiful mural celebrating the city (wish I knew the artist!). We ordered the medium-sized Ricky Bobby, and it did not disappoint. The white sauce was packed with flavor, and the dough was just right, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Highly recommend stopping in, whether you're heading to a performance or just craving great pizza.
The service and friendly employees makes this great all by itself. Mix in the terrific food, and it's a win. Curtis Hixon park is right next door as is the river walk, so the location is good. Parking is paid.
Great service, decent food. I didn't really care for the pizza but others may like it. Not a lot of sauce and kind of dry. Alfredo was tasty. Macaroni and cheese bites were a little boring.
So good!!! The pizza was amazing and I love that they have gluten-free and vegan options too. The wings are baked and are delicious!!! Perfect for when your whole group has different cravings or dietary needs. Definitely coming back!
The staff are a credit to this place. The most delightful service we've had in a long time. Polite and chatty, helpful and honest. A couple of really impressed Kiwis left your store happy people. Thank you. All the best to you all from Rob and Wendy.
Had an amazing experience at this pizza place. Every time we come, the food is incredible, truly some of the best pizza around. The service just makes it even better, especially Jay. He has welcomed us several times and always makes us feel at home. We first met him on the night of my birthday, and he made it so memorable with how kind and attentive he was. Overall, this place is perfect if you want great food and a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal! :)
